DON'T MISS
The Old Town of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and should most definitely be explored. Parts of the 1.5 mile wall that encircle the old city go back to the 13th century. A walking tour along its circumference provides spectacular views of the city.
THINGS TO DO AND SEE
GRAB A BITE
The taverns by the waterfront are great way to sample the local fare. Seafood finds an important spot on most menus and is as fresh as can be! The wines from the southern region of the country are also a must try.
SHOPPING
This is hardly a shopping destination, but one could browse in the shops in the Stradun and maybe also take home a bottle of Croatian wine.
AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Between May and October, the temps are great and range from 75°F/25°C in May to a high of 90°F/32°C in the peak summer months July and August. These months also see an influx of tourists and the city is in full swing with streets over crowded.
LOCAL CURRENCY
The Kuna is the local currency, though some places do accept the Euro and credit cards too.
